Players can take on the role of demons in these dark and magical video games.
There are a lot of video games where the player fights demons, but not many where the main character or available characters are demons. But as the horror genre has grown, more games are giving players that option, and this is becoming a popular choice in everything from first-person shooters to platformers.
Sometimes the story is simple and uses a common theme like demons or Hell. Other times, the demons are presented in a more complex way in an RPG with a long history and a lot of lore. There are a lot of games to choose from for people who want to play one to get in touch with their inner monster.
Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous
In the second game in the Pathfinder series, a player can take on the role of a devil or demon in a few different ways. They can make and roll a character with a demonic DNA. Depending on the class they choose, this means that the character will also have special powers that come from their ancestry. Some of these skills include being able to use evil power or turn into a demon.
You can also become a demon by choosing the Mythic Path for either race. In the Pathfinder world, the difference between a Devil and a Demon is whether you want to rule over everyone or let chaos take over. After a fight in the Shield Maze, the Demon Path is available much earlier. The Devil Path, on the other hand, is only available to neutral characters much later in the game.
Demon Turf
In the cartoony platform game Demon Turf, the demons are the main focus. This is the third in a series that used to be in 2D but switched to 3D with this episode. The animation style stayed the same, though. The word “turf” in the title refers to the different parts of the Demon World that the main character, Beebz, must bring together to face the Demon King, beat him, and become the Demon Queen.
This adventure platformer is one of the best choices for players who want to play as a demon in an evil world and fight other demons on every level. This game stands out because of its unique art style, and it also has fun parts like Photo Hunt that make up for the terrible setting.
The Darkness
Slope Game is for people who like to play demons in a darker, less animated style. It takes place in a modern city and is based on the idea of an old demonic bloodline. The story starts with a mob hit on the main character, Jackie Estacado. This wakes up the powers of The Darkness so that Jackie can kill his attackers.
Paulie Franchetti, a rival in the mob, asked for the hit to be done. He continues to try to kill Jackie as he uses his powers to become a devil to break up the empire. Jackie dies and seems to fail in her quest, but she actually goes back in time and even to Hell to change the course of history.
Demon’s Crest
Because the first Ghosts n’ Goblins was so popular, it led to a spinoff series with some of the most popular enemies as playable characters. This is the third book in the Gargoyle’s Quest series, and everyone’s favourite monster, Firebrand, is at the centre of it. The first two games in the series came out for the Game Boy, and Demon Crest was the first game for the Super NES.
Firebrand is not just any demon. He is one of Asteroth’s best and most dangerous soldiers. Remember how those gargoyles would change into devils and swoop down so fast it was scary? The Red Arremers are a mix of a demon and a gargoyle, and they have all the skills of both. It’s fun to be on the receiving end of the demon swoop this time.
World Of Warcraft
The Legion expansion was one of the least popular changes to World of Warcraft, but the Demon Hunter class might have been the best thing about it. This class fights demons by turning into one, just like Illidan, a Night Elf from Azeroth’s history, who was the first person to take on this role.
In this game, you can also play as a demon by making a Warlock with the Demonology spec. This lets you not only call demons, but also turn into one for a short time to boost your spells. This choice is open to both retail and Classic Warlocks, but the Demon Hunter class is only available in retail.
Devil May Cry 5
Devil May Cry is one of Capcom’s most famous games, and both fans and critics love the fifth installment. Part of the draw is that you can choose which character to play as. You can choose between Nero, Dante, and a new character, V. Each character has different tools and skills, and V not only uses demons as weapons, but he can also turn into one.
V has a number of skills and magic that either call demons to help him or make him a demon himself. He uses something like the Devil Trigger to call one of these demons, a robot named Nightmare, to beat up his enemies before he kills them himself.
Evil Dead: The Game
